What is Beard Oil?

Beard oil is a care product for facial hair thicker than head hair. It is made from essential oils that nourish from root to tip, leaving your beard softer, silkier and easier to care for. The perfect solution for daily beard care.

In addition, beard oil moisturizes and soothes the skin and reduces the feeling of dryness. Because it is often scented, it leaves a wonderful scent on your face.

Beard Oil is a drying oil that moisturizes the skin and beard without leaving a greasy film.

Main ingredients

The main components of beard oil are:

  • Carrier Oils
  • Essential Oils
  • Preservatives

Carrier oils

The primary use of carrier oil is to provide you with the moisturizing, anti-itch and anti-bearding benefits you would normally expect from a quality beard oil.

The second reason for using carrier oil is to make the essential oils (which are secondary beard oil ingredients used to give the oils their scent) safe.

One or more oils mixed together can be used. Some examples of carrier oils are jojoba oil, argan oil, castor oil, coconut oil, and almond oil.

Essential oils

The main use of essential oils is to add fragrance to beard oils, but there are also some other benefits such as antibacterial and antimicrobial effects.

Essential oils are extremely potent yet volatile oils derived from various flowers, fruits, leaves, plants and trees. Some examples of carrier oils are peppermint oil, tea tree oil, bergamot oil, patchouli oil, sandalwood oil, and lavender oil.

Preservatives

Essential oils and some carrier oils oxidize very easily, so many beard oil manufacturers choose to use natural antioxidant preservatives in their products.

The two most important are vitamin E oil, which is extremely effective at preventing essential oils from oxidizing, and vitamin C, which is far less effective at preventing oils from going rancid.

The benefits of beard oils.

  • Promotes the health of your beard. Beard oil moisturizes each hair, making it supple and healthy for a long time.
  • Helps protect your skin. The oil penetrates the skin under the beard more easily, moisturizing that area of the face. The top layer of skin tends to be thinner and more permeable, leading to more moisture loss and eventual dehydration of the skin.
  • A thin layer of oil smoothes the beard hair and makes it look neater. You can also style your beard with oil.

How to use beard oil?

  1. It's best to use beard oil right after your morning shower, when the steam has opened up your pores and hair follicles. This allows the skin to better absorb all its benefits and moisture.
  2. Put a small amount of oil in the palm of your hand. Add more if you have a long, thick beard and a little less if it's very short.
  3. Gently rub the oil between your hands to warm the product.
  4. Apply to beard and mustache and massage up and into the roots with your hands using small strokes to help the oil penetrate the skin. Ideal for moisturizing dry skin.
  5. Comb the beard with your fingers, a comb or a beard brush.
